  • Metal Fabrication
  • Manufactured Housing
  • Wood Products
  • Advanced Manufacturing

Future Growth Area for Automotive Industries

Northwest Alabama is ideally located for a Tier I or Tier II automotive supplier.  Our shovel-ready industrial parks on Interstate 22 are located within a 90-mile drive of over 50 automotive OEMs and suppliers. Not counting the workers already employed in Northwest Alabama, over 2,100 workers from the region commute to jobs outside the region in the automotive industry or for comparable occupations.

Greg Canfield, former Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce:

“The job growth and additional investments in a diverse range of industries are a reflection of the quality workforce and supportive communities in this region of Alabama. New businesses take note of these success stories, and they are indeed one of our most powerful economic development tools.”

Bill Taylor, former CEO of Mercedes-Benz Alabama:

“Northwest Alabama is on the cusp for attracting automotive industry projects and is really poised to grow. For a rural area, they have some compelling locational advantages, including available workforce with automotive training.”
